Whispers of Empty Spaces

Whispers of Empty Spaces is my new Somewhere off Jazz Street double album. The music is divided into two separate parts with each part having a feel and sound of it’s own.

The main part of the album has a dark electronic sound to it that picks up where the last album Beyond This left off. There’s an almost ambient sound to the title track and the tracks Tonight and Everything Nothing. The Bell Tolls has a feeling similar to the previous album’s All We Have. Some eerie vocal choir and screaming sax give Seven Years of Bad Luck it’s dark charm while the melody of Hold On offers a little bit of hope to the album.

The second part of the album, Whispers of Empty Spaces II, has an acoustic jazz sound similar to a jazz quintet of sax, trumpet, piano and bass. The strange bent notes and effects of the muted trumpet create an interesting background for the sax and help give the music a slightly different flavor. The first song, Into The Night, starts with a typical SOJS late night sound, but ventures into a free jazz jam at the end. Slow Again feels like those times where you just can’t seem to get going. The other pieces all have that late night jazz feel and remind me a little bit of my earlier album, Stories from Midnight Streets.

The amazing album cover art for the album is by Robert Costea of RoCoART. Robert has done the last few album covers of my projects and he has an amazing ability to translate the feel of the music into images. Please take the time to check out some of his other work at RoCoART.  Thanks Robert !!

I hope you enjoy the music, you can listen to it here and also download it for free here.

Thanks for listening and for all your support.!
